The heart of the waterfront
When you step out of Hotel Esplanade, you are already in the heart of life in Cesenatico.
In fact, our hotel is located just a few metres from Piazza Costa, a large seafront area framed by the waters of the Adriatic, the luxurious Grand Hotel and the Skyscraper.
Did you already recognise it?
Do you?
It is one of the filming locations of the Netflix hit TV series Summertime.
Piazza Costa is a hotspot for gatherings with friends, walks along the promenade and numerous events.
In recent years, a marvellous retro-style Ferris wheel has occupied a portion of the square, embroidering part of the sky.
However, this square is also a hub for shopping.
There are three routes with boutiques, cafés, bars, ice-cream parlours and restaurants, so you can spend your free time here to your heart's content!

THE CANAL PORT BY LEONARDO
The Porto Canale of Cesenatico was built in 1500 following a project designed by the illustrious Leonardo Da Vinci.
Walking along the Porto Canale you cross the heart of the old town centre of Cesenatico.
In its waters are moored marvellous old fishing boats that are part of the Maritime Museum.
Along the canal is an uninterrupted succession of small shops and restaurants.

PIAZZA DELLE CONSERVE
A short walk from the Canal Harbour is Piazza delle Conserve, which takes its name from the icehouse in the centre of the square.
This is a deep well, which, in the not too distant past, was used to preserve fish and other foods.
During the winter, it was filled with snow, which, when well pressed, was slow to melt and resisted even hot summer days.
Every morning the square hosts a local farmers market.
In the evenings, it is transformed into a stage for musical events.

THE FISHERMEN'S HUTS
Going up the Porto Canale, almost to the end, you come to the fishermen's huts. These huts, built on characteristic wooden piles, are still a source of great fascination and curiosity.
Could this be the reason why they provide the backdrop for some of the scenes in Summertime?
